Are the fable games connected

For better or for worse, the last generation of console was dominated by online gaming with competitive matchmaking becoming a norm for most AAA game titles, helping make the eSports culture more mainstream. The popularity of series such as Halo , Call of Duty and FIFA meant that for many gamers, online play was the main reason to keep playing a game.

The consequences of this were that several publishers became slaves to the trend, putting forcing? One of the franchises that came out largely unscathed by excessive multiplayer capabilities was the Fable series. While Fable III did boast co-op capabilities, Lionhead Studios has never done anything quite on the scale of what it is attempting with the newly announced Fable Legends. The franchise's next-gen debut, an Xbox One exclusive, is an ambitious online jump for the series, allowing up to four players the opportunity to work together in order thwart another player taking on the role of the villain.

In an interview with Digital Spy , Head of Lionhead Studios John Needham explained that this new online direction for the studio isn't going to be exclusive to Fable Legends. With that pedigree, he said that all future games from the studio will boast "connected" aspects. Logan perpetrates some crime probably killing your Fable 2 character, but specifics aren't yet known and takes the throne for himself and acts as an evil tyrant.

In order to save Albion from your brother's hand This leaves You against your brother, to take the throne for yourself and end his tyranny. But your destiny does not just lie in Albion, but the new land of Aurora as well Also, Theresa again has her hand in the events taking place in Fable These will be the events of Fable YZachY 11 years ago 6. I was hoping there would be more heroes in Aurora. Just think about it.

The genocide of heroes definitely took place in Albion, but what of the rest of the world? Thunder and Whisper were foreign heroes, maybe that's where they were from. Blulightning 11 years ago 7. Garth was also from another area of the world. But I think that even in other lands the Hero population has probably had to stay pretty small Unless the Heroes won against the mobs?

That would actually be interesting, because then everyone from Aurora would be a "Hero". I mean their bloodline is probably really diluted, and they probably have less power than Garth or Reaver Who knows YZachY 11 years ago 8. Nice to see someones heads going in the same direction. I was thinking the same thing. You know how awesome boss battles would be fighting the heroes of Aurora? You could make peace with The good or evil heroes, and wage war on the other factions. It would be an awesome twist in the Fable series.

Blulightning 11 years ago It would be an awesome twist in the Fable series" Yeah, I've been hoping that the King or Queen of Aurora is a really strong Hero, like ours, and that they will be your 'Final Battle'. Or maybe even insist you on fighting a larger evil I'm still thinking Theresa is going to end up being Evil or something You play as your Fable 2 Hero's child.

Not grandchild. And yes, Fable 3 takes place 50 years after Fable But Heroes live longer than humans do In some cases they are even immortal, like Scythe and Theresa. Connect and share knowledge within a single location that is structured and easy to search. I've played through Fable, and I own Fable 3, but I want to know if the story will still make sense if I skip Fable 2.

Do all three have one continuous story, are they completely separate, or something in between? Are there things I won't understand in Fable 3 if I don't play Fable 2? The story of Fable is about the family of the hero from the first game. Each subsequent game is a continuation of that hero's family that comes into their own powers and finds their place in the world as they discover their abilities and stop some great evil that is currently threatening the world.

While they all share the legacy of the family, you do not have to play the games in any specific order for lore purposes. As far as I could tell there wasn't really enough related to Fable II to really matter.

Fable III was awful by comparison. Then again, I know that's not what you asked. I don't think you'll have any real continuity problems if you skip Fable II. I never played the first Fable but greatly enjoyed Fable II, and I think I heard that the first two are more connected.

The only thing the same from each game that I can remember is the one narrating lady, at least from 2 to 3 I don't remember if she was in the very first fable. In Fable 2, in the beginning of the game you find a book that talks about the hero who destroyed Jack of Blades years prior to your current time in Fable 2.

That hero is the hero from the first Fable game. By the time Fable 2 takes place the guild has been destroyed and your character and your characters sibling is that last of the "hero blood line" that exists. Teresa the hooded woman in Fable 2 is the same Teresa from the first Fable game who is also in Fable 3. Through some magical power or something along those lines she has lived to the time of Fable 2 and Fable 3.

There are small references throughout Fable 2 that connects to the first Fable and also through Fable 3 that connects to Fable 2. At some point in Fable 2 if you purchase all the property in the game you will be crowned "King" of Albion. Or queen Supposedly, its never happened to me but ive never bought all the property either.

When you play Fable 3, they commonly refer to "The Old Hero King" who died, which is the father of your character in Fable 3.
