To allow great precision in deciding which bricks to destroy, hitting the ball with the left hand edge of your bat will make the ball bounce to the left; if, on the other hand, you hit the ball with the right hand edge of your bat, the ball bounces to the right. The nearer the edge of your bat the ball strikes, the steeper the angle at which the ball bounces off.
This will become clear after a few minutes' play. Once you have destoyed all the bricks, you will go on to another screenful of ball-bouncing fun. To make your task easier, you will be awarded an extra ball every four thousand points. Some of the bricks are tougher than others and require two or more hits to destroy.
